New Britain joins farmers turning waste into power

New Britain Palm Oil trumpeted plans to join the growing throng of agricultural producers turning waste into power as it unveiled a doubling in profits, lifted by higher palm oil output and prices.

The London-listed group, which aims to feed the growing market for sustainable supplies of the vegetable oil, listed two plants for turning palm oil waste into electricity among a series of development projects, also including the $10m expansion of its UK refinery.
