TO commemorate the United Nations International Year of Forests, the Papua New Guinea Forest Authority has come up with a number of activities, including a two-day Open-Day.
The Open-Day, which started yesterday has allowed people mostly school students to learn about the importance of conserving forests for their livelihood and for future generations.
Authority managing director Kanawi Pouru said forests were the lungs of the earth and people needed to take care of the remaining forests if we were to survive longer. Read more here
